After going for the Academic Advising for Accounting major, I realized I need to do something useful in the summer. I am thinking of an internship with hopefully one of the Big 4 companies. Actually, it does not matter which company I work for, I just want to get an internship during the summer to be more productive. I realized that getting an internship in the US, is so hard. You need to think ahead for your next step. First, you need to register under Office of Career Services, then you need to go for workshops specifically for students who want to get internships. Also, you need to write a resume(that obvious right?). It does not get any easier. As an international student, you need to decide which state in the US you need to live in. Being an international student is hard, because you have not visited many states and you do not have good background on other states. For me, I am thinking to apply to New York because I have relatives who are working there. That is everyone dream job and it is hard to get an internship there if you live outside the US. That is called Mission Impossible but everything is possible if you just believe. My second option is in Chicago. I prefer Chicago because the city is not so fast compared to New York but I have no relatives there that I can bunked in during the internship. Therefore, New York seems to be the best choice for me eventhough their lifestyle does not suit me.
For this internship, I am thinking big because I am capable of accomplishing something that I once dreamt I could not. It will be a dream come true for me if I am succesful. After that, everything will fall in place. However, I am also trying for other smaller companies. Enough said, I just want an internship in the summer. Big or small, whatever it is.
