I cannot believe that first week of Fall semester senior year has just began. The classes that I am taking are Social Dance, two Accounting classes (Audit and Accounting) on MWF and Business Law and Management on TH. Social dance is pretty fun, if you can master the steps. For me, it is just too difficult, it sounds simple, "step, step, rock, step step". The guys get to ask the ladies for a dance. It will be awkward if you are a bad swing dancer. Like me...oh well!! Audit, well it is audit, so it should cover a lot of petty details. The second Accounting class is a bit bland, probably is the professor. Well, he is indeed old. Business Law, sounds so ewww, but I think it will be an exciting and interesting class. Totally out of the normal class that college students are suppose to take. I feel it is a bit ironic to learn about ethics when ethics are what people are normally born with. That just what I feel. As for my Management class, it should be not too bad. Guess this year I will have a lot of group projects.
Work has been hectic this week. I have been learning the ropes of becoming a student manager. With great power, comes great responsibility. I have to teach new student workers while also help them out. Actually, I prefer to teach them and hopefully they will be good student workers in the future. I think I can be a good mentor in the future, because I am very approachable and a I teach with patience. Sometimes, I feel that I give them too much work to do. Hey, that is life, accept it....I work more than you. I came in to work at 7am, food run, set up greystone, taught new workers and handle the dish room too. I was running everywhere like a headless chicken. I actually don't mind doing all of this, I rather do that than just stand and watch time fly by. With more work to do, time goes by quicker. Well, I feel that it is inconsiderable to just stand and watch Jon (who works in the dish room) handling everything. Pity him too you know....
Tomorrow I work at 7am again, sigh.....
Time to signed off now. It's back to a busy life again...Study, work and GMAT leaves no time for play...

Oxford
I arrived in Dayton on Saturday and survived the overnight layover in JFK airport which sucked really bad. Note to self, never stay overnight in American airport, there are no Internet and you cannot be in the departure area. Luckily I was smart enough to go to the arrival section and stayed there till my next flight the next morning. I still coping through the jetlag but I think that helps because I get to wake up early in the morning. This whole week I have Student Manager training, the best week ever. I get 40 pay hours and allowance to buy groceries/dinner. Practically, all I ever do is just sit there and hear people talk. I already unpacked most of my stuff. I am adjusting to my new life without my sisters to take care of me. I have so many sisters over here, Suling, HuiHui, Annie. Bridget is the only one that stayed at Miami. Hopefully, I can get a study table soon and sit on my table instead of sitting on the carpet floor. My back hurts from it!! I took a trip to Rec Center and played indoor soccer and badminton. My goal this year is to improve on my soccer skills and fitness level. I even scored two goals this time around. I know that my badminton skills deterioate...I cannot ever smash!!

Addiction
Last weekend I read a column about young teens who are addicted to social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and etc. Some teens admit that they are hooked on to Facebook every day just to see people status update or their tweet update. It struck me how the Internet have really changed people sights on their current status or their lives. I believe that I do not fall under that category. Yes, I admit that sometimes I get too carried away and logged on to Facebook but not to the extent that I will spend hours on it. No way, I got a better life to live rather that waiting for your updates. I opened up my Facebook account when I first went to the US. Everybody was talking about this cool website created by Yale or Harvard graduate, Mark Zuckerberg. I thought that this could be another lame website like Friendster. But it turns out to be super cool.On Facebook, you can upload pictures, write on people walls, tag photos, comment and even play games on that website. How cool is that?? Social networking sites helps people to keep in touch with each other, especially people who you have no longer have contact with. Without Facebook, I might have to wait for my friends to on their MSN (god only knows when), to arrange for a get-together meeting. Too much hassle. With Facebook, everybody is constantly on the go waiting for the next comment. Cool way to keep in contact with each other.
I may be complimenting Facebook but I feel that social networking sites really is a work of a genius. It is like comparing Monalisa with art, Internet with Facebook. You get the point!!!
Bottom line is Social Networking sites might bring you to an addiction, but if you have control over it, it can be really helpful to you as it was for me.
My bleek is over....till the next post!!
