One of my all-time favorite show on AXN channel is Amazing Race. Being a contestant on Amazing Race is really exciting because you can travel the world and do numerous activities at certain pitstops. Today, I feel like I am in Amazing Race. Before I could put down my bag and turn on my laptop, one of the assistant manager asked me to do a task for him. I had to drive to the Company's Commission of Malaysia to obtain the financial statements and corporate information for S company. The catch: I had to be back by lunch time. I don't know my way to KL so I decided to take a cab. I gave the taxi driver the address and he said he knew the way. He stopped me at Bursa Saham which was the wrong place. Luckily, he was kind enough to wait for me while I asked the security guard. It is actually in The Mall. The taxi driver drove to The Mall and the total cab fee were RM 26. To make matters worse, I have only RM80 in my wallet. When I reached the Company Commission, I took a number and waited in line. My number was called and I had to pay RM10 for a password for S company. Just for a password I had to pay RM 10...I don't even dare think how much earn in a day. Then, I had to logged in to the computer to get the financial information. I went to the counter to collect it and had to pay RM22 for printing. Next, I had to pay RM13 for the corporate information. I already spent RM 71 and only had RM 9 more in my wallet. I was worried that I had not enough money for cab. I took a cab and the journey back was so much faster and cheaper compared to going to CCM building. Finally, I arrived at KPMG office and paid the taxi RM 9. I completed the task given and even made it in time. Then, I thought to myself, maybe I should apply for Amazing Race Asia...the question is who will be my partner? The best part of this "Amazing Race KL" is that I get to claim back my expenses from KPMG. *whew*
What a day to spend a Friday morning at work..Later tonight, I will be watching Harry Potter in GSC!!It's going to be an exciting Friday indeed...

Intern Day
Today was an exciting day in KPMG. KPMG HR Department organized an event for all the interns. I felt that this assignment was very challenging because we had to come out with a solution and present to the Partners of KPMG. Also, we had to practice good teamwork skills in order to make this project. There were 6 groups and each group had 9 members. The topic of the assignment were Corporate Service Responsibility (CSR), Awards & Recognition, and Work-Life Balance. Our group, Team P.I.E which stands for Prodigy.Inspire.Elites had the second assignment. We took a long time to decide on our group name because we wanted a name that will standout and classy at the same time. After further discussion, we moved on to more important isssues. We had to create ideas that will help the company to improve. The criteria for this project was we had RM30k to spend to promote a good working environment. Our team came out with numerous ideas but we finally settled for 3 main ideas....Team Hall of Fame, Mini-Day Campaigns and Leisure Room. I am not going to elaborate on Hall of Fame because I bet you have an idea of it. KnowThyNeighbor, Smile...It's Worthwhile, Family Day and Banner Day are examples of Mini Day Campaigns. Actually, I feel that this idea can be implemented in KPMG office or maybe in the corporate world because everybody wants to work in a place that treats you well. I am sure that I would dislike it if I had to work in place where everybody is scolding and treating you like trash. Blogging about this made me realize that worklife is not like a bed of roses. Worklife is like a seesaw, you will never know what happens. One minute you might be riding up high and within seconds you are crashing to the bottom. You just have to be patient until that someone gets down from the seesaw and then you fly up again. Maybe this is not a good illustration. You get the point....
After lunch, we had to present our ideas to the Partners. We were a bit scared because we do not want to embarass ourselves in front of Partners. The Partners eventually reached a decision.....*Drumroll* "Congratulations, Team P.I.E you have won Best Idea Award. Wow, that a surprise....
