Winter Wonderland in Oxford

Snow always remind me of Malaysia. Back in Malaysia, we have rain that sometimes flood certain parts of the peninsular. Pouring rain also make Malaysian people a bit kiasu because they chose to leave for work earlier to avoid the traffic jam. This causes even more traffic jams. Also, downpour in Malaysia reminds me of "kaki motor" stranding underneath the flyovers for shelter. Snow is good in Oxford. Snow causes school to shut down, increase pay rate, keeping myself warm, exam shifting backwards (not necessary a good thing, coz you just want it to get over with, but you need more time studying) and sledding. Yes, sledding!! I think I made a good choice in dropping my 8am class, imagine waking up early to go to class, and braving the winter storm.
Last semester, I tend to ponder why we do not have any snowy days. Alas, snow came in Spring 2010 and Oxford became a white winter wonderland. I think this time we got a record of 3 inches of snow. This year, I decided to take some pictures on amazing snow scenery in Oxford. Enjoy....

Valentine's Day and New Year

This Valentine's day have been the most interesting so far for me. I decided to pull a prank on my closest friends at Miami. How did I come out with this idea? As I doing grocery shopping in Kroger, I thought that maybe I could buy Valentine's Day cards to Bridget, Annie, Stephanie, Tiffany and Che and write anonymous love poems on the cards. It was all done with careful preparation, at least I thought it was. I am not a poetic person and I got the love poems from the net. I wrote the address with my right hand to make it seem like it was not my handwriting. I posted Bo and Annie cards. It was surprising the first response I had was when Annie posted on her Facebook status : "creeper, sent me and Bo love poems". Hui Hui card was hardest card to sent because I had to give her through her door and she might be sleeping. But, it worked out well. Tiffany and Steph was easy, but I didn't know that all cards that go through the mail, are stamped!! wtf...It was a good prank and I actually managed to pull it off.
Celebrating the Year of the Tiger. These times of the year makes me miss home so much. Taiping, cousins, aunts, uncles, angpows, lots and lots of food, playing games, crackers, lion dance, pop-pop..... ah, so nice. I can't believe that it's been already three years I have not celebrate Chinese New Year. Fun times, fun times.

Happy Valentine's Day and Gong Xi Fa Cai, celebrate the Tiger Lunar Year...

Spring 2010

It's been a long time since I last blogged. I guess I am starting to blog again. Let me summarize the events/things I did in January:
a) performed for Fusion, bamboo dance and Chinese swords/fribbons dance. Overall, my performance was good except that I miss some moves for the dance. But, everything else is okay. And then, there was Fusion after party which as always is awesome. Surprise that I did not get wasted and still managed to bring underaged/wasted people home. Kudos to me!
b) appointed by First Miami Student Credit Union as VP of Depository. Basically, my duties include making sure that end of shift is counted well, and the supply of money is in order. I have to admit, being in a police car for escort when ordering money is so cool, that is if you are in the front seat. I bet that being at the back would suck because you did a crime.
c) School is going okay I guess, History, Accounting, Management, and 2 Marketing classes for my minor. At least I hope it will be my Supply Chain minor. Supply Chain is a important and a growing field for companies because it is getting the right products at the right time at the right place. I will soon be creating a Wiki for my History on Mughal empire. This seems cool I guess!
d) Work is going as smoothly as I want it to be. I am lucky that my Greystone shifts co-workers are helpful and always have my back. Last semester, working with this girl was such a pain. Now, it's getting better. phew...Also, I am proud to say that I am the main pizza maker in Alexander. Making pizza seems to be my forte cause I can make pizzas as fast as the orders are.
e) Booked tickets for my parents and Eeling for my sister's graduation. This would definitely be an exciting memory of Oxford. We are going to NY too for vacation. woohoo....
f ) Finally, finished watching my Cantonese series "Born Rich" by comeback actors such as Gallen Lo and etc.
