Today was an exciting day in KPMG. KPMG HR Department organized an event for all the interns. I felt that this assignment was very challenging because we had to come out with a solution and present to the Partners of KPMG. Also, we had to practice good teamwork skills in order to make this project. There were 6 groups and each group had 9 members. The topic of the assignment were Corporate Service Responsibility (CSR), Awards & Recognition, and Work-Life Balance. Our group, Team P.I.E which stands for Prodigy.Inspire.Elites had the second assignment. We took a long time to decide on our group name because we wanted a name that will standout and classy at the same time. After further discussion, we moved on to more important isssues. We had to create ideas that will help the company to improve. The criteria for this project was we had RM30k to spend to promote a good working environment. Our team came out with numerous ideas but we finally settled for 3 main ideas....Team Hall of Fame, Mini-Day Campaigns and Leisure Room. I am not going to elaborate on Hall of Fame because I bet you have an idea of it. KnowThyNeighbor, Smile...It's Worthwhile, Family Day and Banner Day are examples of Mini Day Campaigns. Actually, I feel that this idea can be implemented in KPMG office or maybe in the corporate world because everybody wants to work in a place that treats you well. I am sure that I would dislike it if I had to work in place where everybody is scolding and treating you like trash. Blogging about this made me realize that worklife is not like a bed of roses. Worklife is like a seesaw, you will never know what happens. One minute you might be riding up high and within seconds you are crashing to the bottom. You just have to be patient until that someone gets down from the seesaw and then you fly up again. Maybe this is not a good illustration. You get the point....
After lunch, we had to present our ideas to the Partners. We were a bit scared because we do not want to embarass ourselves in front of Partners. The Partners eventually reached a decision.....*Drumroll* "Congratulations, Team P.I.E you have won Best Idea Award. Wow, that a surprise....
